A requirement for teaching/training practise is part of the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (with Learning and Development). It is a "in service" qualification created for persons who are employed as instructors or trainers in England or who aspire to do so.

The qualification covers the expertise needed for instructors and trainers in the field of further education and skills, including:

• teaching, learning and assessment in education and training developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
• theories, principles and models of education and training Wider professional practice and development in education and training
